Built to protect against numerous pirate attacks, Bacalar's fort now offers a beautiful panoramic view of the entire lagoon and its cenotes.
Its museum is a must-visit in Bacalar, presenting the history of the city with Mayan artifacts and pieces from the colonial era (ammunition, weapons, maps, etc.).
The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
